Default Audio Install

Does anyone know how to get the stock system to sound the best using an LC8? I cant seem to get it sounding good. I am using PPI art 404.2 pushing two 6.5 in front/rear & 1 inch tweeter in front/rear. I have an a600.2 pushing a 12 inch ppi pro series sub crossover used is the 4/5/6 art series.

I have the LC8 but not installed (I installed the RE-Q), but I would assume the LC8 will make it sound better. My install sounds pretty good, at first it sucked because the shop tapped the wire to the rear speakers, and I rewired them to tap the front speakers, sounds much better. Keep your stock sub connected also, because it will play some frequencies your aftermarket sub will not hit.

lexboi250 how do I check if the shop wired mine the same way? For some reason their just isnt enough bass in the front & it sounds like the bass is coming more from the rear speakers...

Off hand, I'd say your installer didn't do his homework. I'll go through the steps that need to be done. First off, i.d. the feed for the front midbass(6.5) in the amp output harness. Next, the front mid/tweet output. Wire the midbass leads to the main input(lc8). Wire the mid/tweet leads to the channel 2 input. Now this is the key, open the unit and move the jumpers to channel summation for main and ch2. You will now have a full range output available to your amplifier for your comps. Now i.d. the feed for the factory sub (not hard to do) and send that into channel 3 input. Do not sum with the main and 2nd channel, You'll have more than adiequite mid-bass in the summed channels. Send the 3rd channel output to your sub amp. Go to the audiocontrol web site and order a bass **** to control your sub level. the lc8 is shipped with the channels seperated, thats the reason your system is messed up. Neither one of your comps is getting a full range signal. As far as the factory sub, get rid of it and use the hole to pass your low freq. Between the comps and the sub, all of the frequncies will be represented. Take the time to do this yourself, so next time you don't have to count on a half-assed installer. Post again if ya need more help.

It seems that the front speakers there isnt the same amount of power/sound coming from them as the rear. Also it seems as if the crossovers are not set correctly because the head unit needs bass, treb, & mid maxed to sound good. LMK what else I can do to tune/tweak it how it should be....
