I'm thinking of getting IS-F taillights and I did a search but couldn't really find the answer I'm looking for. So I know there are 2 types: JDM and USDM. Are the stock ISX50 lights considered USDM since they have the LEDs on the side? If so, if I buy USDM IS-F taillights, do I need to buy the wiring harness as well or can I use my existing harness? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

Both have the same wiring harnesses.

The only difference are the LEDs on the side.

what? No....it's simple. take out old, put in new. there is nothing else you need to do.

U NEED NEW WIRES. CONNECTION TO THE CAR IS THE SAME BUT SOCKET TO THE LIGHT IT SELF IS DIFFERENT.

Thanks IZZO2FIZZO! That's exactly what I was looking for.

 

I didn't read that thread when I installed mine so I wasn't aware that they were different. A quick glance, they looked identical but when I tried to use to old harness the bulb wouldn't fit. So yeah the new harness is required. Now I'm using LEDs, maybe the old harness will fit.

 

You going to buy them from Nigel ???

 

if you get the jdm ones, it comes with its own wiring harness so u don't have to buy a new one...

 

Doesn't the USDM also come with it ???

 

AFAIK they both come with the harness.

 

if you goto the dealer and ask for the part numbers for the usdm taillights, it won't come with the harness. those must be purchase separately. however, if you get it from nigel, he includes them in the purchase.
