Default Annoying rattle noise

uhm...my car was fine until I noticed ticking sound coming from behind the steering wheel. It comes and goes but esp noticeable after hitting rough road. It sounds like a rock or pebble stuck below steering wheel. Is it one of those annoying rattles people have been complaining? I did find some clear plastic sticking out from knee air bags. When I touch it the sound is similar.

I believe it's the steering wheel locking mechanism. I had the same rattle and it eventually went away on it's own. Try moving the steering wheel around when it is locked.

Steering wheel won't move when it's lock right?

Not sure if it's the same noise but check this previous post:

I just got my '08 250 back yesterday from the dealership. It was in for the 1000 mile "service", a new rim, and... a gnarly driver's side dash rattle. Fortunately I was able to trace the noise to the seam right above the dash dimmer **** to the left of the steering column. If I pushed on the material just above the **** I could duplicate it for the service tech at the dealership. It still took two attempts to fix but since yesterday, so far so good. Now I have a driver's side b-pillar rattle that's getting to me. I have to be honest I'm a little disappointed that a Lexus with barely 1000 miles on it is rattling more than my 15 year old Toyota pickup truck.
On another note, the dealership loaned me an IS 350 with the F-sport package. Sh@# that thing is fast! Getting back into my stock IS 250 was a bit of a shock.

You can still move it a little bit. Try knocking the piece back in place.
