Angry Steering Wheel Squeak / Noises

So I have this very annoying steering wheel squeak and noise coming from either the steering wheel itself or the column, hard to tell exactly where it is coming from. The squeaking / noise happens everything i'm turning either left or right (stationary or while moving). Anyone have any idea what could be causing this and would this be an expensive fix at the dealer? Thanks everyone!

I had this issue and they replaced the clock spring/spiral cable under warranty, which is what was causing the squeaking. Not sure what it would cost to repair but it didn't take them very long to complete.

Clock spring is very easy to replace. Remove a couple of steering torx bolts, remove air bag, take off center washer, pull off steering wheel, and boom, you have access to replace your clock spring.

Thank you everyone for your input, it is very much appreciated!

Does anyone know or recommend a good website to purchase a new clock spring for the GS that also ships to Canada? Also, if there are any tutorial videos or documentation on how to remove the steering wheel assembly for the 4GS specifically as I was only able to find tutorials for the IS and Toyota vehicles.

Thanks again everyone!

I have a similar noise on my Sequoia, not as loud in the Camry in the video, but still annoying. I'll be trying that fix next time I get some time...

Club Lexus... a great place to learn about your Toyota...

I have the same problem. Sound seems to be emanating from the wheel area and not the floor so might be this clock spring however it sounds like metal or glass on rubber squeeking, kind of like a squeegee. Any videos on replacing a clock spring in 4GS?

Likewise. I might call a dealer and ask what they'd charge, although at near $200 an hour I don't think it will be cheap. It sounds like a mouse!

Got quoted 1200 cad from Lexus dealer a week after buying a used car.

They said it's just noise so not safety related.

The part from Lexus is 900 but includes a sensor which u can likely use the original one.

i have a tough time finding a after market part as i think the labour should be fairly straightforward.

That's with the steering angle sensor, you don't need that. Just buy the clock spring, it's cheap.

I've been search for a while. For 2013, can't find standalone.

If you have a site, amazing.

That's for no heated wheel, if you have one it's a different part no.
