AGGRESSIVE ISX50 wheel thread
I ordered xxr 521 18x10 with +25 offset all around. I was told that it wouldn't fit in the front. So i was told to go 18x8.5 in the front with 15mm spacers and 18x10 in the back. What do you guys think?
fail! save up and buy some nicer wheels.
offset can't be generalized. it literally means nothing without the width of the wheel. the reason being is it's calculated off the center line of the wheel so a 8 +25 and a 9+25 sit differently on the car. do you know what width wheel your wanting this question answered too?

Question:
If I were to get 19" F-Sport forged wheels or IS-F wheels. Should I stick with stock IS tire size for the front?
For instance for IS X50s 19" fronts is 225/35/19. For the IS-F, it's 225/40/19.
Wonder if I could put a tire profile which matches the IS-F on the front. Implications? Rubbing?

19x9.5 and 19x10.5 +25 is aggressive on the IS as anything lower offset than +22 will require more negative camber than stock or a pull to clear.

ccdan ~ i need your expertise, do you think 19x10 with mid-30s offset would fit in the front? would i still be able to make full turns without hitting anything?
any input would be much appreciated! TIA

At +35 or higher yes with static camber. It's not even close to hitting lock to lock so you good there. You'll have around .375" of clearance behind the wheel at +35.

That's kind of odd that Lexus did that. wheel wells are the same other than the is-f fenders are wider but that shouldn't change the overall diameter. Don't see why it wouldn't be possible however it will be easier to get them to fit with the shorter 225/35/19 tire considering the fitment of the is-f or f-sport wheels will be a bit more aggressive.
In relation of tallness using IS-F's front would make the front tire taller than the rear's by 1mm (which is bascially hard to notice) compared to 20mm shorter using the stock front.
I wonder if it is more of a look thing or practical thing. I guess the IS-F would fill the wheel well better.
Do you go to any of the car shows? Like the commando cruise? Don't mean to get in your business but are you a cop? I think I may have talked to you before. You were my inspiration for really wanting an IS. I mean I always liked them but always loved yours. Its clean as hell. I use to have the bright red IS300 on white work emotions, gold vs-xx's, bronze TE37's, enkei RPF1's, or polished CCW's one of those sets lol.
