Default Speedometer

Sorry if this was already posted.

I have a newly purchased IS 250 AWD '08, the dealership told me that the speedometer would stop flaring orange once I surpass 500 miles. I'm now pushing 800-900, do you guys know at what point it'll go away or how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

What is your speed limiter set at??

That is what usually leads to the glowing orange thing.

Ur dealer sounds like he doesn't know anything

Your dealer does not know what they are talking about. There's a way to set it yourself to active 'orange' when you hit a certain speed and or rpm. Take a look in your manual, its set by using what they call the satellite switch below and to the left of the steering wheel. Oh and you can do this yourself its pretty easy.

wow....your dealership obviously does not know their product....i wonder what they say when u hit a hundred and comes up red, its gonna blow!

all seriousness you can set the orange ring at any speed you want it to come on at, however a default red ring comes on a 100mph.

the same with the tach, you can set the orange ring for the tach at any rpm, but 500 before red line a red ring will come up.

how to set it is in the manual.

It'll flash orange once on startup just to show you that the lights work, after that it'll stay orange when you surpass whatever set speed you have it at.

OP did say "flaring". In any case you can set the speed at which it goes off using the satellite controls. Same for the tach, you can set the RPM.

You cannot control the red ring at 100+, although if you have taken your car to those speeds this early.....
