Default Sports package or Navi?

Im in the market for an 09 is350

In canada we basically have 3 package options. First is the base which is basically nothing, no HID's, no sunroof etc.

So my chioces are the sports package for 6,100 more than base (comes with a lot of extras over the base), or the luxury package for 12,100

If I get the luxury package i'll get (over the sports package) ML, navi, rear sunshade, bluetooth, illuminated scuffplates, woodgrain interior, but i'll lose the sports suspension

So for those who have it, is the luxury worth it for the extra 6 grand? Part of me says im already spending a lot whats 6 grand more, another is saying 6 grand is still 6 grand, and i'll be happy with the sports package.

Basically the only thing I really care about is the navi in the luxury package, the rest is just a bonus.

Opinions?

If you have the extra dough, go for the luxury. You won't regret getting it.

Luxury, The best thing about the car is the ML/Navi, other wise don't even bother getting the car.

Navi. You can get Eibach springs and it'll be similar to the sport suspension. You'll like the navi in the long run.

For $300 you can get an aftermarket nav that does -more- than the factory unit and doesn't cripple itself when the car is in drive.

The sport suspension is very nice, and I'm not a fan of the woodgrain. The scuff plates you can add in 2 minutes very cheaply.

But I'd be loathe to give up the ML stereo. It's not possible to add it by itself in Canada?

Luxury. It's nice to have a navi that doesn't look tacked on and that you don't have to take with you, hide, or worry about it getting stolen every time you park.

I think the NAV would help in the re-sell because its an impressive LCD with a few different views. I think after market NAVs are way more functional. One thing I can't live without now and trying to figure out how to get one installed on the front of my car is the back up camera. With 2 cats its never been so easy leaving the garage or backing out of a parking lot. I'd test drive both types, and it could be that the sports suspension is too stiff for your liking or the ML is too impressive not to have.

personally I thought the Nav looked great in my old 350 but functionality was pretty crappy and not user friendly...(a $200 Garmin is much easier and more intuitive)

I read somewhere the interior will be updated for 20xx? but I doubt it - look at the SC!!

me either, but its better than the painted plastic

I say go for the Lux for the backup camera and ML more than the nav itself, although the nav is decent enough.

Nav is actually -bad- for resale value. Nobody cares about outdated technology the aftermarket has long passed by when you go to sell it later.

And the F-sport springs are progressive, which are -not- the same thing as the sport package springs. I suppose you can always buy the sport package spring (and shocks, those are different as well) and add them later, but that'll be even more cost on top.

For $6000 you could get a nice aftermarket nav installed IN DASH by a custom stereo shop and still have thousands left over.
