Well it happened...I got keyed on my rear passenger door. 
I noticed it yesterday as I was washing my car. The damage went across about 1/4 of my door, so it wasn't too bad. I got a quote during lunch from my favorite body shop, and they said it would be about $480 to fix. My car is going in Wednesday and should be no out later than Thursday afternoon.
Why are people such Lexus haters?

in New York city, it's especially difficult to keep your car fresh and defect free, because people treat bumpers as "it's there to hit. that's why it's called a bumper" and drive exceedingly recklessly.
I have a keymark that takes up more than one door panel, as well as multiple scratches and chipped paint marks. You just get used to it here

I know it didn't happen at work or at my residence (I have my car garaged all the time). It had to have happened when I was at the gym earlier in the morning before work on Friday or when I was at the grocery store one evening after work.
Ouch! Sorry to hear that. There are people out there that got nothing better to do than to vandalize other people's cars. New luxury cars should all have built-in surveillance camera(s). They can use a back-up camera as a recording device when parked...just a thought that Lexus should think about as a security measure.

Darn... sorry to hear that man. My friend's SGM was keyed too, right on the rear drivers side quarter panel. The body shop quoted him 900 because it was so close to the drivers side rear door and bumper, they would have to blend it sucks for him too because he's paying out of his pocket. People these days

Sorry to hear that. In toronto, people don't care either. On my current car, I tried to keep it as clean as possible, but people just keep banging their doors on my car, and now I have multiple dents on both sides! Some are a big as bullet holes, so ugly.
I've learned my lesson, and when I pick up my new IS, I will park at the furthest spots everywhere I go. That's just the extra step I must take to minimize unnecessary damage.
