That's the amount of torque I use for my aftermarket rims.

ever wondered how they come to decide on 76? why not 75? must be scientifically derived.

Use a good torque wrench, and you'll be set to go. I usually do mine at 78, I read somewhere that it was ok.

I never use a torque wrench just tighten with a regular cross wrench as hard as I can. Any bad side about doing that?

^In addition to the possibility that you might not be able to get your lug nuts off manually if needed, you run the risk of damaging your studs from over-torquing the lug nuts.

^^ I can damage the studs by manually torquing them? I didn't know that. I figured since many shops use impact wrenches anyway that those are way more powerful than what I can do manually anyway and they do that to cars day in and day out.

that's only if you keep wrenching with that impact wrench long after it stops spinning. what ur supposed to do is stop the moment it's on tight (no more lug rotation). after all 5 on on tight, u use the torque wrench to make sure it's spec'd out correctly. Try not to over torque cuz u can do what Javy said and you can damage the lugs and rims
