Want to switch to steel lugs from aluminum lugs. Havent been having any luck with the aluminums at all and they're constantly coming loose. Been looking at gorilla lugs but havent seen anyone who's ran them on aftermarket wheels. Would've used the oem lugs but the diameter is too wide for the aftermarket wheel.

Need help finding STEEL lugs that actually work. I have Varrstoen ES1 wheels

I had aftermarket ones and I used Gorilla locking lug nuts. The only trouble I had was with the extended studs. I had two of the lug nuts fall off. I was thinking that I didn't have enough thread to secure the nut on there. After further research, I decided to remove the spacers on the rear, reinstall new lug OEM studs and reuse the Gorilla lug nuts. Since then, I have had an issue since, until I changed the rim/tire combo again.

Make sure you are tightening to around 85 foot pounds and do it in a criss cross pattern.

Bottom line I didn't think it was the lug nuts, it was the studs themselves. This is my experience.

The threads on aluminum lug nuts can actually stretch after being torqued several times. Steel or chrome-moly is more durable and a more practical option. There are many cases of expensive aluminum 'tuner' lug nuts failing.

After researching the large variety of lug nuts available, I chose a chrome-moly steel set from Project Mu.I believe they are the same as Kics R40 but re-branded. The other advantage of these two is that they have a floating washer so that they seat like an OEM lug nut and prevent scratching the wheel. I highly recommend them.

Rays also makes steel lug nuts, not just the light aluminum ones.

I did not know this about the aluminum ones stretching, possibly causing failure. I might have kept my 19's if I knew this info.
