As a first mod, I ordered a front air dam from Sewell. I'm planning to take it to a mechanic who is a family friend and ask him to install it, I'll pay him of course Since I have to take the lip to his shop in the IS, Will the front lip fit inside the trunk of IS250 when the trunk pass through is opened? The part is over 5ft. long.. How did you transport the lip if you didn't have them istalled yourself?

 

Install it yourself! It is easy with all the info on CL. If not, you can fit it with the pass-through.

 

Borrowed a pickup truck. Then again I had to transport the front, back & sides

 

one end in the rear drivers seat and the other end going do the passenger front window on a nice sunny day.. then again i ordered mine at the dealership and i installed it myself righ then and there since i work there just installed the rest of the kit today too

 

save money and install yourself! its not complicated at all. i just did it an hour ago haha

 

you can even fit it from the front passenger seat towards the rear seat behind the driver. but without the box..just the lip itself

 

yes it will easily fit inside the car with the box at an angle.. or if you take it out of the box.. it will fit through the cubby hole in the trunk easily!

 

If i take it out it fits, i put my stock lip in my backseat and it fit. And im sure the gfx one will fit too

 

I got my gfx lip from Sewell the other day and it shipped to my work place. I placed it in my IS by folding the passenger seat all the way down (yes, it's still in the big box) and it fits perfectly. I will install this weekend myself.

 

You dont even have to jack your car up to install it, unless your car is dropped.

 

I saw a thread in this forum which showed DIY installation (pictures with black IS) without drilling and only by unscrewing and screwing back 9 bolts and 2 clips + adhevise tape. Did you guys use this method? It looked simple by the pics but is it really easy to do?

Yeah i just got mine in 2 days ago. Im looking forward to installing it this weekend using the above posted DIY. Im sure it wouldn't be to hard.

 

+1.... probably going to install it saturday, hopefully dont have any fitment issues since im not shelling out for ramps... i may jack up one side at a time if i have problems...

 

I wish my lip still looked like that After a year it is pretty beat up with rock chips and a recent curb. I will probably just get the whole front resprayed and clearbraed.

Guys, PM me if you have any questions. It is pretty straight forward. You don't need the ramps, but it makes it a LOT easier. Make sure you hear the tabs click in place. To do this pull on the inside of the front lip where the tab is located and push on the slot of your front bumper.
