Default Noobie Lexus Owner

Hello All

I wanted to introduce myself. Bought an IS 250 AWD on saturday (Smoky Granite Mica with Sterling interior. Navigation, Luxury, Premium packages)

Anyways heres the "fun" part. We go in back to sign all the contracts and everything. Come back out and the car is still being detailed. Half hour goes by and the salesmen comes over and tells us they put new battery in the car (kinda strange for a car that before we test drove it had 9 miles on it). Another hour goes by and here comes the salesmen with the manager of the dealership.

Apparently there was a problem with the ignition system on the car. They offered us any other car on their lot, but they didnt have any other smoky granite with those options. So they said they needed a few days to track down one and do a dealer swap. We get to go pick the car up tomorrow and i got them throw in the sirius unit with install for 200 bux (originally they qouted me over 800 for parts and labor on it)

Sorry for the long post cliff notes...bought the IS on saturday, problem with the car, left dealer with loaner ES.

Welcome to CL!! Even though your IS didn't quite work out, at least they let you drive a loaner ES! You gotta love that!! Post some pics when you get your car.

turbo i noticed you have the same color combos that we got. How is that sterling interior? I was worried that it would get dirty real easy and wanted the black but the GF was set on sterling.

Edit: Clear bra huh? I was browsing around here and i saw that thread, are those tough to install by yourself? or is it something the dealer needs to do?

What a good way to start off your Lexus experience. Well at least you got Sirius for a decent price. Congrats on the new car. Welcome to CL. Nice to have one more AWD owner.

Quick question we test drove during the day so im not sure about something.

Are those HID headlights the blue type looking lights that annoy the crap out of other drivers? Cause that would a be plus!

BTW thanks for the welcome guys

nope cant be put on by yourself its really hard. Dont let dealer do it unless you get a decent price they always charge up the ***.

Hid light its whiter then halogen but for our car the projectors makes it kinda yellowish when you look at it. IF you want kinda whiter looking lights like BMW and Acuras you would have to upgrade the bulbs yourself to 6k or 8k for more of a blueish purple color with 8k

Yeah, we have a lack of central valley members on here to get together for a decent size shoot. That building your gonna use should make for some good pics.

So i can put those 6k lights in the stock HID system? How hard is it to open up the lights? OO also they are charging me 200 total for the kit and the install. (i thought that was pretty good isnt it like 400 normally just for the part? maybe im wrong and i got ripped off)
