Stock Headlight Problem
This morning I got in my car to go to work, when I turned my headlights on the right side headlight did not come on, I had to turn my headlights off and then back on again for it to come on, I have HID headlights with factory bulbs. Has anybody had this happen?. I am wondering it the igniter or ballast is goin bad. My car is an 08 IS350 with only 3000mi on it
Same thing has been happening to me for the past month. I just used it as an excuse to go up to 5000k d4s bulbs. I'll tell you how it goes when i do the install tomorrow. I also had this issue w/ my previous HID setup on my previous car. I just swapped out the bulbs and it worked. This is probably due to a misfiring arc in the light bulb. I never changed my ballast and just switched bulbs from left to right and replicated it from one end to the other.
my drivers side factory HID went out a couple months back.. it was the bulb, not the ballast... bring it in for a free replacement if you're still under warranty.. they took care of me and everything works as it should now. good luck!

you had it with this car even after your awesome F-Sport springs and struts (LOL)? I think it is the hot sauce speaking from Hooters Sunday. I will replace your bulbs for you next time we meet if you purchase aftermarket. Hopefully it is not your ballast. Typically, if the ballast is bad, the light will flicker but not fully ignite. Buy some 6000k D4S bulbs from Zenon Depot and we'll swap them.
I've just changed my bulbs to mobile HID 5000k after i was experiencing the same issues as the op. Not only did this resolve the bulb issue, but my cutoff color band is noticeably purple whereas the 4300k bulbs were completely yellow. I took some shots of the bulb dimensions and noticed it was maybe 2mm difference and alot more purple halides despite the pure white output on the floor. Im gonna take some pics and video to show the new cutoff. Im astonished since i know for a fact changing bulbs should have absolutely no effect of color spectrum at cutoff. Weird.
