Default Problem with my IS350, please help!!!

About 4 weeks ago, my VSC indicator and check engine light activated along with a rough idle (especially when cold). I live in So. Cal. so, it is rarely if ever that cold to affect the engine.
Anyway, the dealer said I put bad gas in my car. This is true to some extent, for the 3 weeks prior to the problem, due to rising gas prices, I switched to low grade.
After 3 weeks of having my car, I was told that there was black (dirty) coating in many parts of my engine. After the replaced everything they found, it still idled rough, so they checked the cylinders and found 2 were misfiring(??) and not cleaning when firing(??). They believed they fixed the problem. I picked up my car and it ran great for 2 days.
Then my tire pressure indicator activated, but the tire pressure appeared fine. It did however feel strange when I was driving slow, but not like a tire feels when it is low or flat. The next day, the rough idle began again as did the check engine and VSC indicator.
I was told today that they are baffled by the problem and are calling in a special engineer.
What gives??? The car only has 22k miles. I haven't made any modification to the car

Has this happened to anyone else?????? What is causing it?????

Default yea mine too

Mine did that too around 20,000 miles. I took it to the dealer and they had the car over night. They fixed the problem with mine. They said it was miss fireing too. They said something in my engine was dirty and they had to clean it out. Now i got 26,000 miles and it haven't came back yet. The idle was kinda jack up when my check engine light came on and the vsc. Take it back to the dealer.

Wow... this can happen to a Lexus too huh... The direct injection is a relatively new technology to all car makers, those fuel injectors are more sophisticated than before so this is probably what they'll have to go through before making a more reliable one. I've heard some storys about BMW 335i's direct injection engine also.

The dealer should probably spray out the intake and run an injector cleaning agent in the fuel tank. Some dealers have a machine that connects to the fuel rail. This should clean out the carbon build-up. I would only use premium from now on.

In my part of California, there has been a few gas stations that received bad gas (one of them including a Chevron station).

We had that problem in Fresno too. Little E I think it happened all the way up to Merced. There was a mix of diesel in the lower grade gas. But premium was ok just the 87 & 89 was affected.

legallybld are you in the central valley?

Exclamation

I hate to say this but saving .20 cents on the gallon or an average of $3 per fill up is not worth the potential adverse side affects on filling up with low grade gas..

If your cars calls for "Premium Gas" stick to the premium...

Javier posted a pic of brand new LS460 being filled up with 87

and just the other day I saw a guy filling up a brand new CTS-V with 87 octane as well..

^^ These cars should be in the shop soon, if they continue to fill up on 87..

Hope your issues get all fixed.. !

Default The specialist comes on Monday

I'll let you know what the problem is. Anyone know what the rules are for the lemon law in California?
