hey guys i have a 2008 IS250 awd. I want to remove the lettering on the rear of the car. Anyone done this with a leased car? Is it allowed under the lease? AND to take it off...just get a blow dryer and heat it up and then scrape it off? Anything i need to be careful with?

 

I don't know about lettering but my dealer is cool with me putting on a Tom's kit and then removing it when I return the car. they even offered to put it on for me for Free.

 

There are holes under those emblems.. so beware. But otherwise, as long as you return the car to factory condition when you turn it in, what are they going to do. They cant stop you, or take back your lease cause you took the emblems off

 

do you know which part has holes and which doesnt?

i thought it was just glued on..crap...

anyone done this to a 07/08 is?

Not everyone takes off there emblem just for that.. Some just likes the plain look at the back....

I have a lease and I took off my emblems and I shaded my taillights and reflectors,you can go to the dealer and ask what you can and can't to to your IS while it is leased. But I know you can do anything to it excepted you can't touch the engine, and I know the F-sport part go on to your warranty if you buy them from the dealer

 

You are fine. You dont have to put the emblems back on. Does anyone really think the dealer is going to make sure the emblems are on the car?? I have done this on many cars and not once had a problem...my car is a lease and you can see all I have done to it...

 

heh I will leave my IS250 AWD emblems on...if anyone laughs...I'll drive my IS-F next and then I see who laughs! lol

 

i dont care that you think im a "loser" for having a is 250 and not a 350 or is-F... my bad i cant afford that...but im not driving a honda...i can atleast afford a damn nice lexus, even if its not the top model.

and thats not why i removed the logos, i just dont like the cluttered look. Now it looks niice. Except for the few holes left on both sides from the emblems... but you cant see them unless you inspect the area real up close.

It's not just limited to Lexus vehicles. There are a lot of MB fake AMG cars out there, as well as fake BMW M3's and M5's too. Whatever floats your boat.

 

whenever i see a IS with no emblem I always look at its brakes... so far I've only seen IS250s out of the street with no emblem...

 

what if they got brake kit and shaved emblems... what would you do then....?
