Two toned tinting?
Hey all..
i've been interested in getting tints for a while but never really got around to it and now i've got some free time so i'd like to.. originaly i had planned on getting 20%'s all around, as i liked the one color look, and i really want the back windows to be 20% i think its a perfect shade. Unfortunately alot of my friends around here have gotten tickets for their tints (feel like the local cops are seeing it as a free ticket opportunity and giving everyone a hard time over something stupid), so now i want to keep it legal. That means my next option is going with 35% in the fronts and 20% in the backs. This sounds good to me but i'm a little nervous about having the two different tones of tinting.. if it will look off or if it'll be good.. so i'm looking really for some pictures of two toned tints (it'd be awesome if someone had a pic of a 35% / 20%) Car color is blue onyx pearl btw.. and any other advice would be helpful =)
thanks
oh and btw, i searched for some pictures or responses before posting this.. but plugging in "Tint 35 20" returns a ton of results considering most people have IS350 or IS250 in their sigs =p

I don't think it looks bad to have the front different from the rear/back. I have it on my car (dark front tint in Cali is a no no). I have my rear/back 18% and nothing on my front so far...I am planning to get 35% up front (for more sun protection) when I can find the spare to time to give up my car for 1/2 a day.
Personally, I do not like different tints on back, rear side, or front side windows. It makes it look too uneven for my taste. So if I was in your shoes I'd go all around with the darkest shade you can get away with. 20% is pretty dark. I've got 35% all around with a black interior and it looks good to me. But it is your decision.

scythe, if I remember correctly, the darkest you can go is 65% in the fronts in NY and NJ. The rest are 35%, I think . . . But aren't our windows already tinted at 70% from factory?
Edit - Oh and I did 35% all around except front windshield just because I don't like the looks of mixed shades of tint.

notice that 65 + 35 = 100
To be legal the front windows have to allow 35% of light through
To be legal the front windows have to block 65% or less of light ??
i'm not sure though, although i asked the local police officer in my school and he said 35% light has to go through or more for the fronts, and the rear seats and windshield can be ask dark as they want
i think i'm going to go 35% all around, i've noticed some cars recently with the two-toned and don't know if i really like it... although some pictures would really do some help, i found the thread of tinting pics but there are no clear side shots of the 35/20 combo..
i have my is250 in red mica what should i do with my tints im thinking of 32% on the front/back windows on the side door and 20% on the back windshield think it will look good? or should i go a different way
