Default Tints

I've been having a lot of trouble with cops for my tints since they are 20% all the way around. The cop told me that my 2 front windows must be 35%.
Does anyone have in here have 35% tints on the front windows and 20% on the rears?
Will this look funny?
or how about having no tints in the front window and leaving the back windows tinted?
or is there a way around the whole tint situation so i can leave my tints on?

please any help
this is how dark my tints look

If you do not have any other choice because the cops are bothering you that much with it, then ger the same % all around. Gives it more of a distiguished look. Just my opinion.

Don't the cops in N.Y. have better things to do ?

I was thinking about taking it off. But I just had the tints put in, in Jan. And if i take them all off i would feel like i just wasted my money.
I got pulled over twice in a 2 week period. I got a ticket the first time and the 2nd time i told the cop i already got a ticket for it.
freaking pigs.. nuthing better to do but pull people over for tints...

Default Tint

I got 35% in the front and 20% in the rear. It matches pretty good actually. The tint shop told me they usually have that done instead of the 20% all around.

Be glad for even that amount of tint...in Illinois you can't have any tint in the fronts.

It's the same color as yours Millenium Silver. I got like some chrome metallic tint that cost me like $250.

Dave, I have 20% tint all over and been pretty lucky in the NYC area thus far. knock on wood.
This is what I do and might help you out the next time around.
Everytime I see cops near me, in a check-point or pulling me over for whatever reason, I immediately open up all the windows INCLUDING my sunroof (unless it's raining/snowing).
First it gives them a sense of security so they won't have to guess who's hiding in the backseat with a shotgun and second, they might not realize the tint as much.

Tints? Do you have multiple layers of it?

Maybe it's just window tint? (singular, not plural). Sorry, Mom was an English teacher...

You'll need to strip it altogether or re-do it in a lighter shade. Mine was LIMO all around when I bought the car. After my third interview with the CHP, I had the entire car stripped and re-tinted in a lighter shade- a classier look anyway!

I'm amazed that you can even get away with 35% in NY, when I used to live in the northeast they always gave me hell for my 50% "tint"

Also I think D2-autosport has 35% front and sides with 20% rear..check his gallery

both times when i got pulled over it was only cause of my tints..
once was when i was at a stop sign.. and second time.. my window was half open.. and he still pulled me over..
to me it seems like the busting down on tints...
or maybe its just that they are after my ***

Default Tint

That's the type of tint I have. (chrome metallic tint). It blends in nicely. I was going to get 20% all around, but I don't want to hassle with cops.

I know you don't want to have to spend extra money to get it replaced. I would change it so the damn cops would stop hassling you and get the tint shop sticker so it will vouch that it is legal.

Good luck.
