I was just trying to clean up the wiring in my trunk. It went out as I was moving the one harness out of the way to get to another. Yes the car was on.
Just as i read this for the first time, you already had it fixed, haha. I was going to suggest testing the other fuses on the driver and passenger junction blocks. Glad you got it all fixed!
i felt the same way when i found out about the fuse box on the passenger side. i was sitting in my car all worried i would have to shell out money. then i looked at the owner's manual and it mentioned radio 3 and radio 4 fuses but i only knew of radio 1 and radio 2 in the hood.
anyway, i am glad it is a $1.50 fix for the fuse instead of the ridiculous price your dealer quoted. I wonder if they would have still charged you that price if they find the blown fuse.
last time i went to the dealership for 10K 'OIL CHANGE' with my own oil, they tried to charge me over $200 for 10K 'SERVICING'. when i asked what they did, they mentioned they rotated my tires!!! staggered wheels with unidirectional tires!!! so i yelled at them to change my tires back and only paid for my oil change.... to make it short, the stealership just wants more money

Small lesson learned. I also did this with an amp when I grounded a power wire 15 years ago. I thought I blew everything in my dash. It was a fusible link and I was so relieved, I had a "Billy Madision" party with circus animals and carnival rides. Glad it all worked out for you. Electrical wiring is tricky business if you are not expereienced. I once re-wired my factory harness on an old Lebaron Convertible. The dealer wanted $400+ t fix it. I did it in 3 hours and never had a problem again. Sometimes things are tougher than others when it comes to wiring.
What blows my mind is that their techs go to school for stuff like this. No lie there was 5 of them that couldnt figure out what was wrong. Scary.
I'm really beginning to question JM's credibility, especially the way I was treated. It's not like we haven't bought 5 cars from them in the last 6 years or anything.
