Not sure either.

I'm looking over the schematics.. wow.. it is complicated.

Maybe just because i need the harness and see what wires are needed to be connected... maybe that is a start.

Climate control.... it can be PNP.. not sure.. but if you do plan to do this.. you will need a electronics manual for the IS.

Cross ref the donor car with the car you plan to install. It can't be that bad.

Wow, I understood a quarter of that, but I believe I understood enough, I would't do this myself, I would let the installer that has done my IS350, for me (headreast screens, subs amps etc) do it. I bought the wife a IS250 Manual for x-mas sport pack nonml/nav and she wants the screen my 350 has, but if it will be to much trouble, I may tell her it can't be done.

it will cost you anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 depending on how badly you want it.

I am actually in the process of installing a full navi swap. Nav+ML with the back up cam, steering wheel controls, bluetooth. Cost is pretty much priceless as there really isn't a easy way to do it. you have to study and understand the whole 2IS non nav and nav wiring diagrams and from there splice into the factory wires.

Once everything is complete next week, I will post some pics up.

OEM Nav system can be purchased through the dealer.

It's $6000.

One person cracked their Nav system by accident (which is not covered by the warranty) and needed it replaced. It cost them that much.

That does not include installation, which integrates the Nav system with many of the car's features. It also does not include installation of a back-up camera if your car does not have it.

No exactly the best location to be looking at while driving though.

Has anyone with a non-ML and non-Navi IS thought of putting an after market navi in the center speaker area? Perhaps doing some sort of pop-up thing or something?

Seems to me that it would be a better location (eyes don't really need to come off the road) and it leaves the center stack in one peice.

Default Non-nav to nav

Hi i was just wondering if its possible to convert an ISx50 non-navigation to have navigation? Would you think its just a simple bolt on, like just buying the head unit and plugging it in? Or do you think there is much more to it and its not worth my time.

Not being mean BUT this question has been asked and answered about 1000 times in the forum... if you search you will find it.

That being said, no the NAV system isn't a simple snap in replacement and it doesn't looking like it is even a remotely possible conversion.

BTW, I feel your pain... I didn't get the NAV either and have regretted that decision.
