Want Mods?
Everyone here payed a premium to buy there car no mater what what you payed! Toyota does not give there shi..stuff away. So before you start modding.. remember that there have been MILLIONS of $$ spend on R&D to develop this car.
1. There is a REAL trade every time you change out a major component on your car. It may be sound, ride, mileage, or reliability, it is something.
Examples: Bigger wheels can = Less mileage/performance/ride quality.
Intakes can = Less performance, more noise, more cost. less mileage.
Exhaust can = Less performance, less mileage, more noise.
Bottom line is make sure when your spending your hard earned money, you don't have buyers remorse due to inflated expectations or ignorance of consequence's. I just listed the negitives. The parts mft.s will tell you the positives.
I do not say " DON'T MODIFY" as I modify everything I own. I just want the guys that haven,t to know that its not as straight forward as some will make it.
P.S.
Unless you "track" your car or have some other way to grade your upgrades, there is a big placebo effect due to sound and other things. Hope this helps.
Good Luck and Happy Educated Modding

Bigger/wider wheels = more tire patch/ better traction/ less understeer/better steering feel/(if lighter than OEM) better performance/more crisp steering response
Exhaust = Less back pressure, more HP, more torque
Intake = More air = Better performance, better economy, more efficient engine
So you gotta do the research and find the best way to get the ones that actually perform. Get rims that are lighter, not just bigger, get intakes and exhaust that are about increasing efficiency, NOT just noise, etc...they are out there...just gotta look.

ROFL... my dad said my AME rims were a waste of money and made the car look ugly... NOW when we drive around he points out 2IS on stock rims and laughs at them and says 'their rims arent so nice...', what has this to do with the topic... i dunno but i just thought i'd share

I just keeding!!!
I see your point though.
Some of U have missed the point. If you read the whole thread, I MOD and I also mentioned that the MFG will tell you the up side. They don't tell you the down side. How many threads have you read that the writer is unhappy after he installed springs becaus he hates the ride. Or installs 20" and bends a rim. Sorry you misunderstood. The whole idea was ensure you know the down side before you by a mod. An intake and exhause is not going to make your 350 run 11'S in the 1/4. Nor will springs make it pull 1G+ without damaging your internal organs. That was the point I was trying to make. As I stated, I MOD all my cars. I just don't want guys to expect too much from mods that they are paying a premium for.
