Default New here...just a quick question

So I just purchased a 2006 is350 on ebay...only had 7k miles on it. Picked it up for 24k as it had prior lite damage. Maybe a good deal...maybe not but I am in love with these cars and for 24k with low mileage I guess it was an impulse. So the description was a bit brief on the ad, but there were a ton of pictures and the guy has great feedback. So with that brief description I am a bit in the dark as to what package the car has. It has nav with the backup cam, does that mean it automatically has the Mark Levinson? or no? Also it has the aluminum trim, but no memory seats or heated/cooled seats so I am guessing it is not the sport package. It does however have the 18" wheels which is nice. I am thinkin it is the base is350 that had a few options added. Any insight would help, thanks and glad to be here.

NAV & backup cam doesn't necessarily mean ML.

it should still work even though the auction is done...at first I thought it was a great deal...the more I think about it It was probably just an average deal, but I finally have the car I have wanted for the last year.

I have Mark Levinson on my car, and it has a sticker just below the CD/DVD player slot that says it. In the pictures of the car on your ebay link I do not see this sticker, so my guess would be it doesnt. However my logic is not fool-proof...

I was looking for a designation for the mark levinson...but did not see one either so my guess is your logic is correct. Guess I will have to do some upgrades. anyone have any insight on the quality of the non ML sound system?

I could not agree more, I slept on it for a few days and I did find out that in California it only takes 30% damage to create a salvaged title. In Minnesota where I live it takes 70% to be salvaged. There is a possibility that it will be able to be a clear minnesota title but I will always know it has been damaged. I know it was a risk, but this guy sells a ton of salvaged title Lexus' In fact he has sold 3 isX50's in the last 3 weeks and not a complaint from a buyer yet. Im hoping it goes well. Wish it had the ML system though. Everywhere I read said you had to get the nav/ML combo together. cant believe everything you read I guess!

Salvage is a big,big turnoff for me.
It will be tough for you to sell or trade in the future. You also don't know how things will turn out with body work and such.
Good luck,though.

Looks like base model with Nav, front lip, and 18" wheels. No ML.

Hope it works for you, but salvage title and selling that vehicle for $24k would not make me feel comfortable, especially with air bag deployment, but it may drive fine and if you keep it for awhile it may be a good value.

It appears it only comes with one key fob. Do not lose it or you will be the creek without a paddle. Replacements are not cheap.

What did Carchex, Carfax reports say?

And be sure to report back once you get the vehicle in your hands. Good luck.

yeah everyday I think about it more, and I have 12 days until the car arrives to think about it more...I won the bid by $63 in the last 10 seconds and 4 different people bid within $200 of me in the last minute so I guess some others are watching them as well. If I did not have a conscience I could sell it when it was home for $30k to a lady that already said if I decide to sell it she would buy it. But I could not do it knowing the title situation. I am just hoping for the best. Money is a little tight right now and I am just hoping it turns out for the best and the car is good. The seller has been very honest and upfront up to this point from what I can see. Say a little prayer for me

you should ask for the accident pictures if he has them just to see what kind of damage it had before they fixed it up.

Actually, that should have been done before he purchased the car but late is better than never..
Hopefully, the car will work out well for him.

I would still take it to a mechanic for a complete inspection. If the repair job was done right, for 24k, would you rather have a 350 or an Altima, or Camry, or Accord like every other schmuck?

The hood doesnt fit 100%. Check the gap between the hood and the right headlight in this pic: http://www.drjemini.com/06whiteis3501/03.JPG

And theres a hole in the fender at the edge by the headlight seen in this pic:

There maybe more cosmetic things you may not see in the pics. You can use all these as another bargaining chip for a better price. Good luck.
