How does buying a salvage car work? Is insurance higher? Do you registar is the same way???

 

nothing changed for me, may vary state to state. Insurance was actually not too bad about $130/month for full coverage. I am going to see what happens as far as registration goes. In MN you need 70% damage to create a salvaged title and from the info I have gathered it was no where near that. So we will see how it goes.

 

only thing i can contribute: the non-ML system is amazing. i have not heard the ML system, but i have the stock, and i could not be happier. it is better than the BMW 750 system, the new C class system, and the new 3's, and the TSX.

I've been in all of them extensively...personally i love my system better than all of the above.

edit: well, damn it, i didnt realize there were 2 more pages :P. so now that you have it, how do you feel about the sound? do you agree with me or what?!

Yes, unfortunately, Lexus insists on equiping nearly all of its cars with those stupid high performance summer tires, which can be lethal in the winter. If you want to drive the car in the cold/snow, you might want to swap them out for all season tires and maybe re-install them when you sell the car.

You would have to get some snow tires on that car. i think all it has is the summer high performance tires. Hope things go well with registration. post some pics soooooon!

ReLexin, I think the insurance varies from state to state. Some companies will not insure salavaged cars.

hey thanks is rocks, I am very happy with the car. Here is a little picture I can paint for you guys. The night I got it home, I refused to leave it in the street but the driveway was very snowcovered and I scraped it the best I could. I tried for about 10 mins to get the car up the driveway with no luck. So I laid out 14 moving blankets going up the driveway and for the last 15 feet of the driveway I had to empty out 6 boxes of cheerios on the driveway for traction....ha now how is that for dedication to the IS
