i wonder if anyone here knows whos car this may be...this could work out for you in the long run and hope it does. i crashed a NSX and airbags didnt go off. trust me i wanted the car to be totaled and i saw the car about a year ago and we did a carfax/title search and it took over a year for the car to be fixed and was back on the road.

i hope you are happy and everything works out for the best. it really is a great car.

do you know if the shop that fixed it is a member of CL? there are a few on here that do this for a living and maybe they can help you out also?

There maybe more cosmetic things you may not see in the pics. You can use all these as another bargaining chip for a better price. Good luck.
Bumper cover gap at the fender near the wheel well is bad too.
I'd back out of the deal if I were he.It may be worth a negative feedback point.
A few thousand less $$$ is not worth it,especially a Lexus of which has perfect fit and finish and to have fit issues and who knows waht else now or down the road,IMO.

well too late now I guess as money has been sent already. All I can do is hope for the best now so I guess all I can say is thanks for all the honest opinions. The car is obviously from the Sacramento area and if anyone is familiar with the area and recognizes the car your info is greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys

I might not be from the Sacramento area if it was salavaged. If can be from anywhere, most likely was bought at an auction from the SoCal area. I know people in my area that purchase cars that are salavged, fixed and sold again.

They are normally cheaper cars like Hyundai. HE purchased a 2000 vette once that was salavaged. He wont do that again just because the higher end cars require certain tools to fix them. And made just enough money break even. The car looked very good in the end except it took him 6 months to sell it.

If it was me take it too a body shop and have a once over too see if it safe to drive. I would drive it a couple year and maybe sell it then with some mods. Good luck on it! Or do what he did and sell it on ebay if you dont like it.

Upon further inspection of the pics, it looks like an frontal airbag deployment. The steering wheel and dash looks brand new. There is overspray never the top of the windshield.

The car might be from that area and the owner had it towed to the dealership. insurance might have totaled the car and the dealership might have purchased it. Take to a body shop and mechanic, spend $100 and have it checked out for safety. I would still drive it for a couple years and some nice rims too it. Then later on sell it or auction it off.

Hey thanks Slee18, that is about where my thoughts have been on it. I plan on doing a few mods and have some pretty good connections built up in the aftermarket industry over the last few years. Brand new parts are always good and at least it is from a reputable seller. All I can do is hope it is a safe and mechanically strong car. Sometimes you just have to take a chance...like I said I have wanted one for a year and this one was about my limit for payment and affordability.

I think this is a first time I've ever seen a base IS350 with just Nav. Usually, the IS's with Nav includes at least the premium package and most base IS's only have the 18" wheels as an option.

It is a nice deal for 24k but like others said it will be tough to sell down the road. However, if you decide to drive it for a long time then it's not that bad.

Well I am officially an IS350 owner...For the last few weeks all I have done is research this car up and down. I picked up the car yesterday from the shipping terminal in the Twin Cities...about an hour and a half drive for me. Well luck have it be my luck that we get a nasty snowstorm yesterday and its -6 degrees out all day. It took us about 2.5 hours to get to the terminal. I tell the guy that I am there to get it an he chuckles a bit and says ok its right out back. My heart started racing a bit because I was wondering why he was laughin. Well we walk back to the car and there it sits, snowcovered and very hard to see the car. The guy was like are you sure you want to drive this thing home today? I said yea, I dont really feel like coming back up tomorrow and taking another day off work. 45 mins later I am finally out of the parking lot, this is going to be a long 95 miles home. It took 4.5 hours to get 95 miles and it was pretty much about as white knuckle driving as you get. This car on these tires absolutely sucks. I have had RWD cars/trucks in the past but nothing I have had to drive in the winter. Made it home safe and sound though after what seemed to be a nightmare trip.

So that was the trip home. The car, well I was in for a couple of surprises. The first which almost made me freak out in the lot was the fact that the car is not the color I thought I was getting. The pics all had me thinking it was either Crystal White or Starfire Pearl, but on the contrary the car is Glacier Frost Mica. But I think it was just the original shock, if you have ever seen GFM on a really overcast cloudy day it looks nothing like it does in sunlight as the pics I bought it off were taken. Now that I have it I love it. Also I thought the interior was cashmere on black carpet and turns out it is Sterling on Black carpet. Once again pics really lighten it up but it looks amazing on the black carpet and I love it. The car drove, sounded and felt like a new car, other than the fact it literally wont move with these tires. I suppose being an original Florida car (found out through some more research) they dont get too many snow storms down that way. The car will stay in the garage until it warms up to at least freezing here and the roads clear off. Pics to come soon along with a handful of mods Thanks guys and gals...glad to be here!
