I noticed that, if I use the windshield washer when my headlights are on, the headlamp washer will also go on. It will only do it once, though, until the car is turned off then on again. There is a separate headlamp washer button.
Is there any way to stop it from doing this. I mean, if there's bird crap on the wind shield, I don't need or want to spray the headlights too. I realize that i could turn off my headlights, but obviously I don't want to do that while I'm driving.
You could also turn off your headlights, spray the windshield, and then turn the headlights back on. This will no activate the headlamp washers but you would be turning off the lights.

Bad idea for HIDs though. Turning them off and on again will shorten the bulbs' lives.
thats what i was thinking.......... i thought it would have to be factory added
It is factory added. They are a stand-alone, but (at least in the NE) they equip them on certain cars (maybe those with HID and/or Lux Pkg), so it's almost as if they aren't stand alone.
Yeah, it's a factory option for $100. I dunno why that's "too cheap" though. I skipped it because in almost 20 years of driving I've never found my headlights so dirty I needed to clean em while driving, plus one more thing to potentially break... but I was half tempted just to have an extra button in the cabin instead of an ugly blank plate
