Unhappy Head light washers?

Why is it when I spray my windshield my headlights get sprayed automatically?? Kind of sucks if your car is clean and you only want to clean the glass.

Default That ain't right

That should not happen.

I have sprayed my windshield enough times over the past 3 summers to assure you that the two systems should not be connected. I don't know of any way to connect them, even if you wanted to.

I also remember the dealer telling me not to spray the headlights unless I did not mind if the whole hood got a big spritz at the same time. I think I have used the headlight sprayer once, just to see how and if it worked.

I think you have some wires crossed and should have the dealer find a fix for that.

Not that you couldn't live with it if you had to.

If you have your HID headlights turned on then it will spray your headlights when you spray the windshield. Turn off your headlights then spray the windshield to avoid this. Took me many re-wiping sessions to figures this out.

Okay, guys, here comes the biggest DUH in the forum ... just where the heck does the headlight spray come from? I looked around for some ducts, but can't find any.

BTW ... I have yet to use it.

The spray comes from 2 Square looking things right below your headlights.... They pop out about 2 inches when you spray. Really to see it, you have to have someone else in the car to push the button... Very cool looking.

Thanks, Ian

I never for a minute thought that was what those little square guys were and I will NOT tell you what I did think they were.

Oh, yeah, right ... we'd never make fun of you ... HAH! Let's see ....

I thought those tabs snapped out (glad I never tried!) revealing a place to screw in an eye hook to be used as a tie-down when transporting the car.

Okay ... now have a good time.

The only way the headlight washers should come on is if your HIDs are on and you push the button that activates them. I do not believe that they are connected in any way to your windsheild washers.

Ok, here is a bigger "DUH". Where is the button that activates the headlight spray?

The button is to the left of the steering colum and is right next to the mirror adjuster switch.
