IS touch up paint
Has anyone successfully repaired a scratch using OEM Lexus touch up paint? If so whats the extent of the damage and what color/procedures did you use for this type of job. Thanks in advance.

I found out the hard way to just leave the chips alone. Tried to touch up my RX and my Sequioa and they didn't look good at all esp for our cars coz you have to use two touch up paints. One for the oem "color" and the other one for the clear/metallic coat. Just my 2 cents.

i fixed some scratches with the lexus touch up paint. You can tell it's there, but it's better than a white line on a dark colored car.
The only advice i have is use AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE!!! You barely want any paint on the tip and just dab it lightly in.

I've fixed a couple of DEEP, LARGE rock chips with the OEM touch-up paint with really good results... but as MrMut said, they really stood out on my dark gray (almost black) car.
Also as MrMut said, use very little paint and build up in layers instead of trying to fill any deep scratches/chips all at once. Let the first layer dry completely before applying the next. Another good tip is to use a toothpick instead of the supplied brush to apply the smallest drop of paint possible.
Good Luck!

well i just recently got a nice chip on the bottom of my front lip , so i used to touch up kit, and i was unsatisfied with the results....BUT it sure beats having to look a nice black chunk on white paint....if i really wanted to make it right, all i need to do is have the front lip repainted, or order a new one...

I have good results when I use a fine tip brush from the hobby store. The brush that is part of the touch up paint cap is too big and hard to use accurately. Also big blobs of paint like to accumulate on the attached brush. Oh and one more tip, do not over tighten the cap when you are done with the touch up paint bottle since can crack over time only for paint to leak out the next time you shake it. Dupli-color sure went cheap with the touch up paints the supply to Toyota.

Another trick you can do to keep from getting to much paint in the chip area is to break a wooden match stick and dip it bearly into paint and use it to apply piant. The paint will cling to it better than a brush and it will be more forgiving as you apply the paint. My $.02.

I don't like to do some touch up but when I must do it I use Fix-up.
It had smaller end then Lexus touch paint. You can have it directly through your Lexus dealer or on the website of fix-up.
I think it's the best touch up
