Just making sure, the 5k service is always comp'd right? I bs'd with the sales guy and got the free service up to and including the 30k, but I am not going to be near the dealer where I got the car. Should I wait til the weekend and just go to where I bought it, or should the first maintenance be free regardless of where I go?
I know hte first 5k maintenance is free to any dealership, what about the free ones after that? Wouldn't that need to be brought to the dealership it was originally bought from? Or is it saved in the computer or do you just bring in a signed contract saying you have free maintenance til 30k miles so that any dealership would do it? Because a dealership would not do free maintenance just by walking in to the dealership and saying you have a free one, right?
Wow, how did you get them to give you all the service up to 30k for free? Im curious about that one, was that done at the time of purchase and if so did you get it in writing and if so how was it documented?
Those I would have to go back to Longo I'm assuming. The only reason I'm not doing that today is because I'm working in Long Beach and am going to stop in to the local dealership during lunch (taking a half day today)
I ended up negotiating for my car for a solid 4 hours. I wanted to get up to 50k like the BMW service but we eventually settled on 30k. It wasn't on any official paper, but I got the salesguy to sign off on it and I go to him before I sched a service so I know he will be there. He was a "family friend" which only means that we're dumb enough to keep going back to him to buy cars
Essentially my strategy was: if Audi and BMW can offer "free" service, why can't Lexus? Although I believe Audi has already stopped doing it

The only "local" lexus dealer around here is in Cerritos (where I got mine) and if you're planning on going there, you better call in AND be prepared to wait a long *** time. Their service team takes FOR-EV-ER!...even for just the first 5k.
