My guess is that feature probably won't appear on the IS/ES/GS navigation systems for at least a couple of years. Maybe in model year 2009 or on the 3rd generation IS (2011 or 2012?). Right now "real time traffic" is limited to certain roads in certain cities. To me that's not very useful.
Well, there’s always the “poor man’s” version: Listen for traffic reports on the radio and while there’s still time before a grid lock occurs, change your route to just about anything that seems clear. The nav system will automatically re-route you to your destination, hopefully around the heavy traffic. It doesn’t always work, of course, but I’ve been successful more than once.
I dont see them putting traffic updates until the third generation. I believer only the LS has this feature. It will be a while before it trickles down to the IS.
