Default steering column buzzing

hey guys, so i have a buzzing in my steering column that sounds like metallic in nature. it usually occurs at 20mph and 50mph. i already opened it up and tried to fix it but i cant seem to find the source. if you push up on the column shroud, it stops the buzz. does anyone have any experience?

I get the same noise but when I start the car. Its weird because it only does it sometimes.

The noise when you start the car is the steering column lock disengaging.

That never crossed my mind but it sounds that could be it. Thanks. Does it to also do it to your car sometimes?

ah ic, well i put in a whole bunch of foam in there and it definitely helps. its just instead of being constant its intermittent and only on the roughest roads.

I took apart my intake today and replaced the old coupling that holds the intake to the throttle body just to make sure that the T.B. and the intake wasn't causing any friction with one another which is leading to the rattleling. I just wanted to make sure the intake has nothing to do with the rattleling before I take it in and the dealer try’s to give me a hard time about it. Like I said in the previous post, it only does it sometimes so if it does it again I am taking it in for sure.

Gshb, in your case it only does it around 50mph and over bumps. Next time you start up your car see if by any chance it also does it. If you take your car to the dealer before I do let me know what they tell you. I will also do the same if I go in before you.
