so i went to get my first service done yesterday...i mentioned the tsb brake issue and they seemed suprised that i knew about it but they obviously knew what i was talking about. I took a printed version of it and stated that i would like it done. They informed me they did not have the brake pads available, but would order them and call me when they were in to set up an appoitment and even offered a loaner at that time. So far so good, oh and i passed on the free car wash.....the service rep. said, "You don't mess around do you?"

 

i have another 900 miles to go before i need the 5k service. if they offer me a free wash i will also decline. i don't like other people doing anything to my car unless it's completely necessary. it would be hard to mess up a car wash, but i know it can be done. past experience with people working on my gs-t eclipse has made me paranoid lol.

 

It really isn't hard to mess up a car wash. All they have to do is use poor materials/methods for washing or drying, and you end up with swirls on your car. They're reusing mitts all day (or using brushes), probably picking them up off the ground and reusing them, etc.

If you get a free car wash at the dealer, you're probably getting exactly what you paid for.
