Default Help! Minor Crash!!

Hi

I hit my Is250 against some bricks. The front right part of the car is damaged (not severely) but the right section of plastic bumper is falling off...

The fog light seems to stil lbe okay...

How much is this going to cost me and whats the best way to fix it?
My significant other is going to smack me for being so carleess being the 2nd day I had the car!!!

I'm so worried i'm looking at huge repair bill so thanks for your help!

Oh man.. that sucks. Happening this on the second day of having the car is terrible.

I do not think it will be in low hundreds. My gut feeling is it will be close to a thousand bucks if the bumper is not very damaged. But if it is falling off, then maybe something else broke too. No way to guess correctly without getting it to a body shop.

Good luck

Chances are good it will be well over your deductible, so just let insurance handle it.

Don't feel too bad about it; new cars take awhile to get a feeling for. It might take you a few months of getting into tight spaces before you have a good idea of the dimensions of you car while driving it. You won't be able to park the IS the way you park an SUV, for example.

If you read up a lot and practice on a ****ty car you could try and pop everything back in place then get some touch up paint and fill it in then with a couple coats, then clear coat it....then color sand it (this is where the reading comes in and practice first)....then use a orbital buffer to polish then wax and use sealant....it should look pretty good then and will cost a fraction with some tools that you can use for a long time (orbital)....thats my advice and I'd try that first....

yah that might be a good try...
Dont have a car to practice on tho

Do you think a bodyshop would entertain doing this for a reasonable price? And what's the odds the bumper will fall off again?? Can I just gluegun or such? (I'm sure some of the tabs might have broke, none of the bottoms ones, maybe one of the top and the two by the tire are somewhat sketchy)

Wow... Well I mean you could try and find an IS in a junk yard that hopefully was hit form behind or something and get the bumper off it... Then all youd have to do is have it repainted... Why dont you just have your insurance fix it?
