2IS Random Thoughts Thread

I made this thread cuz some of YOU (not me of course
) seem to go OT quite a bit and the mods get mad at us.. *cough* i mean YOU. In alot of forums theres a random thoughts thread and i havent noticed one here yet. So...
I really like the speed of the 350, when you get right down to it, these cars are FAST for STOCK!!! Just that the 'sport suspension' shocks are overdampened and need to be alittle stiffer.
The performance mods quite frankly arent worth buying yet, hopefull someone will make a bigger MAF/MAS and throttle body, full exhaust, LSD, higher stall tourqe converter (?) and alot more. While you cant do much with a 11:1 compression ratio theres alot that can be done for parasitic hp loss and just helping the car breathe better.
Why is looking at background in pics so interesting? Well i think its cuz we all have the same car and its always interesting to see where someone else lives. Like in Stargate SG-1 if you watch the background outside scenes every planet they goto looks like the pacific northwest, vancouver to be exact *cough*.

Things people need to stop saying on this forum:
1) "I expected more from a $45K car."
We get it. We all paid around that price. You're not impressing anybody with how much you paid. Most of us understand what we got for the price... it's on a big piece of paper taped to the rear window of the car when you were at the dealer. Paying $10K more than that guy in the TL only entitles you to RWD, more HP, chunkier front doors, and a muffin at the dealer. That's it. It doesn't come with a masseuse, chaeuffer, or the complete elimination of any car noises.

i wish lexus has streeted the lighting equipment with a little more care in terms of design and specs so we would have never had to have all these lighting posts on this forum!! There is on at least every other day.

I have to agree sirkfc. Purchasing something that is 45K or above isn't something that should be taken lightly. Research should have been done before you bought the car. That way you learn that the car has and what it doesn't. That way you know what you're getting into and don't regret what you buy.
My rant:
I'm not one to mod my car too extremely, but I do plan on doing a few things to it... but i'm tired of reading threads where people bash on what someone else did to their car. IT'S THEIR CAR. They paid for it and the mods so they can do whatever they want to it... I mean don't get me wrong, constructive criticism is great, but don't just hate on another person's mod without giving them a reason.

I love my car and thats the bottom line. People may hate some stupid electrical feature, but you know what........ IT'S A LEXUS!!!
Next time you drive anywhere, take a look at people. Yep thats right.... they wish they had MY car!!

I used to have a hatch so this might be a common problem for sedans but whenever I have rain/snow on my car and open the trunk it fills up with water or snow from the back. This is super annoying for obvious reasons.
Also I think the multipurpose display in the dash is kind of weak for a $45,000 car. My friend bought a GTI and the display shows so much more info and isn't limited to two lines of text.
I put the bold in just for sirkfc since apparently people complaining about the IS is really taking away from his life.

1. too many 18-year-olds driving a 2is that someone else paid for (and technically own per the pink slip) and calling it their own
stop it. it's not YOUR car. your name is not on the pink slip, and you do not pay for it. stop calling it YOUR car.
2. these same 18-year-olds driving a 2is and giving the rest of the owners a bad rep (i.e. reckless driving, street racing, poor taste)
not only do we have to put up w/ you calling the 2is you drive YOUR car, we have to hear about your immature experiece w/ putting underbody lights under your car or totalling your 2is because you got blindsided by a sherman tank or... you get the point.

there are many, MANY threads on this discussion. stop asking which one is better. and by the way, coming onto the clublexus forums and asking which one is better is, well, rhetorical.

if you wanted more horsepower, you should've shelled out the extra cash for the is350.
