I enjoy driving my IS to work, knowing I am driving in comfort and style that 90% of the other people on the road can't enjoy. My coworkers always ooh and ahh over the backup camera when we go out to lunch. Guess these are the nice things we can have when we don't have children and get to spend our money on ourselves.

It amuses me that everytime someone puts up photos of their new or stock-looking car on here, the first thing you'll see is someone else saying, "looks good, but you need to change all your bulbs to LED" or "you need to redout your tails", or "you need to lower that 4x4 of yours". Just playing I know everyone (well most of you) are just enthuasiastic about your rides and want to help others in the modding addiction. But have you ever noticed that if a manufacturer makes black headlight housings for US cars and chrome headlight housings for JDM cars, the US car guys all crack open their housings and paint them chrome, and the JDM guys all want black housings? Same goes for emblems, badging, etc. In the end the guy who leaves his car stock is the only one who has the unique look.

I'm not trying to put anyone down, I fell into this trap myself with my MR2 ... put some ricy blue H4 bulbs in it, bought the JDM nose badge, added 2003 side vents to my 2000 car .... just that car modding is a funny thing, like an addiction we can't help ourselves.

and for the IS250 AWD or 6MT guys who wanted more power but didn't have the 10K to buy the IS350 ... you shoulda got the G35/G35x.

 

HAHA in japan they throw Lexus emblems on their altezzas/aristos this is true, ive seen it.

Today i went to honolulu and i tried leaving pwr ect on the whole trip... i was freaking out, i just tap the throttle at 45 and the car jumps... I gotta take some tylenol now cuz my neck is starting to hurt from the whiplash It was fun/scary and im not gonna do that again... pwr ect is only for use against the evil nissan empire and their honda cronies.

1. Yea people who complain about something being spelled wrong you obviously understood what was said so why start flaming a misspelled word and not even answer the question?

2. Another thing... Im 19 i pay for everything i got from my car to insurance to tires brakes gas my phone bills credit cards rent etc... So i really love when i post a thread and my age is an issue. Must i tell you my financial situation before u answer my question lol? Its a joke are you envious because i can afford something nice. I think people just need to look past these idiotic things and talk about our cars.

4. So i totaled my car and im irresponsible according to the majority of the 2is owner. And this is greatly due to my age but answer me this when your doing the speed limit and night with your lights on and you get hit by another vehicle is it my fault? I still get people brining this up. Answer me this who needs to grow up now? Certainly not me.

i believe that was a requirement in order to be a productive member of society, no? but i digress...

with all due respect to is250 owners, but there are so many of them in southern california, even if you have an is350 (i being one of them) people assume it's an is250 until they see the badges (less observant people) or the brakes (more observant people).

what's worse is, with the is-f looming in the horizon, is350s will be like the ignored middle child...

of course, better than being the runt of the family... i kid, i kid.

at least it's sexier than the stuck-up 3-series and more luxurious than the G.

 

I dunno, i dont see it like that, the is-f isnt gonna be a popular mainstream lexus, it will only appeal to a few (probally everyone here). Look at the Z06, sure C5/6 owners would love a Z06 but would they really buy one? I dunno, we'll have to see how practical a is-f really is cuz if you step up into the $50k+ range of cars you'll have alot of nicer choices... OR if you got 50k to play with, then theres alot you can do with a 30k car, just think, buy a G35 and correct everything thats wrong with it, which isnt that much and add FI the correct way. I dunno, the is-f is gonna have to be something pretty special or affordable (yeah right) to be able to compete.

To quote another member, 'if you want a sports car your not gonna buy a lexus'.

On a another note... I hope is-f parts will be interchangeable with the 350's thou... Almighty TRD give us a LSD in our hour of need... *affordable one plz* and 4.88 gears
