What i would have liked to have seen, that many other performance cars have, is that if you take the metal key out of the fob, the car resets the rev-limiter or limits performance to like 3k RPM or so. That way a valet cant go rally your car. Basically limiting performance if the metal key is removed from the fob, now THAT would be useful, i doubt anyone keeps anything in their car that is very valuable, especially not more valuable than the car itself (which in our current state, the valet can go drive it as hard as they want).

What are some examples of cars with that feature? I've heard of aftermarket "valet" chips, but never one from the factory.
It amazes me that people don't know this about the trunk. It's certainly nothing unique to Lexus. Unless the IS is the first car you or your parents have ever owned, haven't you guys ever gotten a key that doesn't open the trunk from the outside? Why would they do that unless there was a way to lock out the trunk?
Err... not everyone goes to places where there is valet parking, most ppl never keep valuables in the car ESPECIALLY not in hawaii, so for ppl like that, why would they have ever needed to know this? So therefore you would have no need for this, to me its just an 'interesting' feature.
