Can someone recommend where I should go to find a cable to hook up my ipod in my IS250? I've been everywhere and can't seem to find the right one. I have the aux hook up in the car, just can't find the cable.

I just bought one today at radio shack for 5 bucks

 

The cheap and nasty way to hook it up is through a jack from the headphone amp, but the sound is compromised. Better to get a sik.com adaptor that uses the line out on the bottom of the iPod. It bypasses all the relatively crummy headphone amp circuitry and sends the cleanest signal to the car's system unamplified. Highly recommended and you WILL notice the difference. The signal is NOT dependent on the volume level of the iPod since it is a signal out source.

yoyoyo....i used a 3 to 1 outlet cigarette so that my belkin ipod line out cord would fit in my compartment....with this i can hook up my cell phone....


this is pic of just one cord coming out of that compartment....its line out so i dont have to deal with volume on my pod

DJ_AmtraX, with this set up, how do you control the songs on your playlist? Isn't there not enough room for you to use your Ipod when the cord is just long enough to be inside the armrest? Or do you have use an stereo mini-plug extension cord?

 

The length of the ram din adaptor is a tad too short, imo. You can use it, but you really need a bit of length to make it convenient. I added a stereo mini-plug extension that I got at Fry's (Radio Shack would also probably have them). Now I can hold it in front of me, or the passenger can, to select tunes.

 

I listen to mostly News/Talk Podcasts so I don't do much music surffing.

YEAH, think I might try that as well. I hate adjusting the volume.

 

Is this less of a headache than getting the IPOD integration on your vehicles? Vaistech, Dice etc ?? Same Quality ??

 

i got s nice setup, cost littl bit but i can charge it with no noise coming from the alternator, i'll post my setup later, at work right now.

 

Do you get any ground loop interference? I've heard of problems with the Belkin AutoKit causing a hum while both charging and using the line out.

I've ordered this, hopefully it will be here in a day or so.
