it's a ground loop.

There's a TSIB that fixes the AUX port for that specific issue, your dealer should it free under warranty.

wow, people were right. using a dock to bypass the headphone jack of the ipod produces much better sound quality.

i have 2 ipods that i switch when one dies, then i charge and swap when the other dies, different music of either of them so i always have different music in my car

Yeah, if you want audio from the dock connector AND the ability to charge at the same time you'll need to spend a bit more on the interface (ones that do both are probably more like 30-50 bucks)

Always use mine, bought a cord similar to some posted here and there is no problem with arm rest.

I think the sound it perfect, as good if not better than a CD
