Default Second Thoughts. Help and convince me.

Just purchased a IS 250/Obsidian/Black/6MT/HKS Exhaust/Rear Lip.

So, I am having second thoughts whether this is the car for me. Help and Convince me that the IS is a better buy than an 07 G.

If you need convincing then perhaps the IS wasn't the best choice for you. The only regrets I sometimes have is getting TP over Crystal White.

I say go drive the G.. if that doesn't stop your doubts you're in the wrong car.

Did you test drive both cars? If you're unhappy with your purchase, there's nothing anyone here can say to make you feel better.

By the way, I'd pick the G over an IS250, but not the IS350. It depends on what your priorities are. The G is certainly faster than the 250 though.

Yeah I guess I should say I have the 350.

Hehe

If I had to choose between G or 250.. haha I'd get the Bimmer 328. :P Or whatever its model was.

I learned long ago that once you sign on the bottom line, it is time to stop comparison shopping. The question of whether another vehicle might have been better is moot, you've already bought this one. So get out there, and start driving and enjoying it!!

It took a couple of days for me to know I made the right decision. The night I bought my IS250, I was really doubting if I would like this car. A week later, I had no regrets and now I love it. Of course, I never considered another car like the G because I wanted a Lexus over all other brands. There are good and bad features on all cars. At some point you have to make a decision and focus on what drew you to the car in the beginning.

You'll have to look to subjective elements if you really need the convincing, as on paper, the G35 and 250 are probably similar in price but the G has better specs, except for gas mileage.

For the 250, convince yourself that you are driving a more prestigious brand, with a better design and feel inside, with probably a better dealer experience. It will probably be of better quality too, though we'll see what the folks at JD Powers and Consumer Reports has to say about that in a few years. And I'm sure you think the IS looks better too. It's just a car. You'll be getting other cars soon enough.

Totally agree with you.

To the OP. You already bought the car so nothing you can do. I picked the IS250 over the new G too and I never looked back or thought about it because I know the new G is gonna have lots of problems with the new engine. Lexus quality is top notch.

I was between the G35 coupe and the IS250 , but I was looking more for a luxury car so I went with the Lexus. I love it no regrets here.

First of all, why did you decide on the IS over the G? Was it an impulse buy? Did you find out that your justification/s are wrong after getting the IS? The way I see it you don't have a lot of options, learn to live with your decision or get the G. I don't know your financial situation but I hope its the former for you.

It's funny cause for me, I have done so much research on the IS350, was one of the first posters here about how I loved it so much. I knew I wasn't ready to get the 06 model so I waited patiently for the 07's to appear. I have test drove the 350 about 4 times now at different times day and night. It really does help doing your research, any vehicle your going to spend your hard earned money on better know what you want and if it's right for you.

Now if only Japan would make a loaded up 350 for FL region.

You could special order, but that may take a while...

If the OP wants me to convince him that an IS250 over a 07 G35 is the right decision....well I can't. I can say that is a decision I'd never make. I care too much about power to make that trade off.

I had a 350z which is very much alike the G35, I now have an IS350 which I love and think that Lexus makes a much better product then Nissan, stuff start falling apart in Infini/Nissan's products, they do not use quality materials like Toyota/Lexus does. And the IS350 is definitly alot quicker then the Z was, which was very important to me. But if I had to make the choice of a G or an IS250, I would choose the Lexus everytime, I think I would even take an ES350 over any Nissan product. Just my 2 cents
