Second Thoughts. Help and convince me.
Guys, thanks for all of your replies and opinions/advice.
Here are the reasons why I bought the IS 250:
1.) Reliability and Dependability
2.) Well built, reputation.
3.) Value
4.) Comfort
5.) Luxury
I test drove an automatic 07 G yesterday with the Premium and Sports package. Seeing as it is a brand new car with a lot of fancy gadgets, it was quite nice. Here are the main reasons why I like the G:
1.) Power - 100 more horses
2.) Stiff ride with Sports suspension
3.) Tight steering/handling
I think why I am having second thoughts is that I miss the quick acceleration, power, high torque and tight handling. I was coming from a Cooper S 6 speed MT with CAI and a 19% Supercharger Pulley. But my Cooper had all the rattles that came with the car with the flywheel making all sorts of noises, the window insulation melting from the AZ heat etc...
Before I bought the IS 250, I researched and compared it to the G, and the 3 series with the decision down to the G and IS 250. But after reading reliability reports, I didn't even bother with the G. I guess the IS 350 is really the car for me but like you guys said, it's too late.

I was in the same ordeal. My final decision was for the IS. I fill no passion driving the G35.
i also looked into both cars and then went with the IS250. the were practically giving away the g35 coupe's because the new body is coming out in 08' but would not budge at all on the new sedan. that told me enough right there! the lexus will hold it's value better in the long run too... just you wait & see.
My 2 previous cars were g35's. Got an early model sedan when they first came out in '02 and traded that in because it had too many issues (rattles, pull to the right, grease streaks on the windows, loose driver's seat, tire feathering, etc.) for an '04 6MT Coupe. I was thinking that they had 2 years to work out the bugs and I got employee pricing. I got employee pricing and that was about it.
Long story short, I sold the coupe a couple years earlier than I would have liked because it had all of the same issues as the sedan. Infiniti doesn't really care that much about their customers after the sale. They set up barriers to get warranty work performed and can't seem to find permanent fixes for the most mundane problems.
Despite the power (and perhaps handling) issues, you made the right choice for quality and service after the sale.

seeing as how i've driven every car in this class TL,TL type-s,g35,a4,328i,335i,is250,is350........i have no idea why anyone would buy the is250 instead of anything else in its class. the funny thing is the g35 and the is250 are comparably priced.
i was thinking of getting a G too... it's good powerwise but at the same time you are gonna pay hella gas for the power. so i finally decided to stick with the IS!
one more thing, G 6MT cost more !
I drove an 07 G35 I was not impressed with the interior at all
The wood was so fake looking it looked like a tree you would see GI joe hiding behind
I mentioned it to the salesman and he said I wasnt the only one who mentioned the trim
There were 460 Lexus sales on the island there were 45 Infiniti sales in 06 from what my sales man told me ...
This Island has to be 65% Toyota or Nissan on the road ..

It's funny cause for me, I have done so much research on the IS350, was one of the first posters here about how I loved it so much. I knew I wasn't ready to get the 06 model so I waited patiently for the 07's to appear. I have test drove the 350 about 4 times now at different times day and night. It really does help doing your research, any vehicle your going to spend your hard earned money on better know what you want and if it's right for you.
Now if only Japan would make a loaded up 350 for FL region.

I dont really get the point of asking for advice about choosing IS or G after u purchased IS. you'll love it so dont worry about G or any other cars if u dont like IS already, then you didnt do a good research on it.
I didnt have such second thoughts caz I was pretty much in love with IS!!!
I hope you'll love and enjoy it!
