So, I am having second thoughts whether this is the car for me. Help and Convince me that the IS is a better buy than an 07 G.

I hate wasting money on gas. Especially since I fight my way through traffic going to and from work and rarely get to the speed limit let alonehaving enough open road to enjoy afast car. IS250 was perfect for what I need.

I was looking the g35 coupe as well. My dad and I figured that we could get a good deal on the g35 coupe but they would not budge. They told us that had been selling about nine g35 ever week. I test drove the g35 coupe manual w/ a sports package. I loved the sound of the engine, but could not get past the look of the interior. They told us they could get us a better deal if i went with auto, so i test drove that then i realized that theres a huge blind spot. I ended up going with the IS 250. Its more practical for me and driving fast isn't a priority for me. This is why I picked the IS over the G.

1. Better MPG
2. More practical
3. Better Interior
4. More trunk space
5. Cheaper insurance
6. Its a LEXUS!!

I don't regret picking the IS over the G. The only thing i regret is picking a IS with a better package.

Yea same here on the interior. God that dash is hidious! I couldnt get past that. Same thing with the 350Z. Its horrible in side. Nissan had lots of work to do. Fortunately it looks as though they figured it out with the new G37 coupe.

Personaly owned both Nissan and Toyota products. Even sold new Nissans for a while and would have to say you will be happier in the future you purchased a Lexus. Sleep well tonight friend caus you made the right choice.

To the OP, I feel for you because having buyer's remorse is the pits! You should be out there enjoying your new car instead of going on a car forum to tell people that you regret buying it.

But like others have said, Lexus quality trumps Nissan/Infiniti quality. I've sat both in a 350Z and a G35 and IMO, the interior quality is so cheap looking! Everything felt really, really plastic. It just didn't scream "luxury". However, when sitting in the 2IS, I can truly say "ahhh....pure luxury!".

Overall, the 2IS is a beautiful car. 250 or 350, they're both sexy lookin' comin' down the street so enjoy your purchase!

I currently drive an 04 IS300 and the car is fantastic, can it use a little more power? Sure. The quality of a Lexus is phenomenal. I just sat on a 07 G over the weekend and it is no where near the craftmanship of a Lexus. My lease is up in a year and I will be interested in a 335, G37 and IS350. If power is what you want maybe trade in your car for a 350.

350=fast, lexus, reliable, but no stick. (a negative for me)
335=fast, stick, cost more, has reliability issues (a definite lease for me)
G37=fast, more power, stick, rebadged nissan, updated interior (a posibility)

If the IS350 comes out in stick. The IS wins.

for me, 6MT is the main issue, G 6MT cost more than auto 6 speed. that relly turns me off......

If they came out a 350 with 6MT, I would have bought it in a heartbeat!
