Default IS350 vs. AudiS4

Who do you think would win, an s4 or an IS350?

I have a friend who has a b6 S4, and we mess around all the time, and we're always dead even..

i think on paper, the s4 should win but i guess the 350 is faster than specs would suggest. probably pretty close. 350 is stomp and go, depends on the shifting in the s4.

I think you just answered your own question.

With both cars, it will all end up depending on THE DRIVER...

I have had both. My current ride is a 06 IS 350. My previous ride was a 05 S4 6-spd manual.

On my S4 I had full exhaust, downpipes, chip, intake, coilovers, sway bars. The best I could do in Las Vegas at the drag strip was 13.8.

On my IS 350 look down at my sig and you can see my mods, pretty much like my S4. The best I could do at the drag strip was 13.9 but I took out my back seats, spare, etc.

Stock for stock, after driving both, they are very similar in a straight line from 0-100mph.
From a roll on 70+ and up the audi will absolutely kill the IS 350.
If you guys race where turns are involved, the audi again will destroy the Lexus.
I personnally liked the way the audi felt in everyday driving much more. When modded it also rode much better than the Lexus modded. I do like the interior of the lexus 100 times more though. Overall I like the lexus more than the audi. And the quality is 1000000 times better. I visited the Audi shop once a month it seemed.

edit: if your friend has a auto S4 or a Avant S4 your car should be faster stock for stock.

Does it really matter who will win? There is always something better and faster.

If you just want to impress, without a doubt the Audi.

Is that all that matters? The nav is fine and it is fully functional while driving. What about the car and the drive? The stick shift, the awesome interior and seats, the engine.

Besides, the Audi is the kind of car you want to get lost in.

And lexus isnt a car to get lost in? I drive my IS350 and my friend's S4 All the time, and the S4 just doesnt cut it for me. Yah its manual, and yah its got alot of power, but i just feel so much more stable and secure in my IS350.
So i don't know what your talking about...

OK, I can see folks are not being objective. The reality is an IS350 is a few notches below the RS4 whether folks care to acknowledge it or not. But go ahead, keep your head in the sand in la la land.

I'll let you get back to your episode of Fantasy Island.

hrm...

s4 = same class as m3, c32/55 amg...

is350 = same class as 330/335, c320, G35, TL type S, A4...

IMO different class of cars. let's compare apples to apples, not oranges?

So is the RS4 also the same class as the M3? That doesnt seem to make sense since the s4 is in the same class as M3. But wait, the RS4's biggest competitor is the m3? ...so i don't reall know what you base this info on...but hey whatever you say
