What am I getting into? (maintainance)
I am thinking about getting the IS250 and kinda worried about how much is it going to cost me on the maintainance every month or after couple months how much it would be?
How much would the old change will cost for a Lexus IS250?
How much would the brake pads and rotors will cost when needed?
Do i have to change the rotors also when I change my brake pads??
(on my bmw 323CI I have to change both everytime I have to change the brake pads and plus the sensors).
Just researching and need some help on making my decision on getting the IS250...

oil change is about the same as any other car
Brakes, same thing...... about the same as any other car. its all in the labor charges and where you get the work done.
also it depends on how long you plan to keep your car and how you drive it.

Everyone seems to be watering it down a bit. Oil changes on a Lexus are expensive, unless you go somewhere other than a dealer. The tires are expensive, and will have to be changed more often than on most cars. The brakes wear quickly, and they're expensive to replace as well.
It's a great car, and my local Lexus dealer has been great (so far), but I don't for a second try to water it down and compare it to maintenance costs on other vehicles I've owned.

After how much miles do they go bad usually??
(I guess it also depends on how everyone drives their cars).

To the OP... I think what you're asking is whether or not the rotors need to be replaced after each brake pad change? There were some threads over the past couple months that have talked about other CL members going in and Lexus telling them that they needed new pads and that the rotors would have to be replaced because they couldn't be planed/machined. I think the concensus was 1) the rotors do not need to be replaced b/c they're not slotted or drillled and 2) no the rotors do not need to be replaced after each pad change. As long as they're not causing the car to shimmy when braking they don't need to be replaced or machined. And from what I've gathered if they DO shimmy then you should be able to find someone to machine them as long as they have enough thickness remaining. Hope that helps. Also, changing the brake pads is not that difficult from what I understand. There are a couple of threads on DIY for the IS300 over at MY.IS and there might even be one here. I haven't seen one for the 350 though. From what I understand they're the cartridge type (I could be wrong) which will make the brake pad change very easy. Consider doing it yourself.

I almost spend a fortune on maintaining the damn BMW!!!
(but rides nice... getting rid of it soon to buy the IS250
).
