Default Gold Emblems

Have anyone had the gold package (emblems, logos...) on their IS? Is it a worthy add-on? I asked the dealer and it's priced at $895. If you have it, how much did you pay and how do you like it.

Thx,

Most dealerships don't replace the emblems, they have someone who comes to the lot and plates them right on the car. I watched a guy work on a Maxima a couple years ago. They hook up the emblem to a special machine with alligator clips, then brush on the plating solutions. Took him less than 10 minutes per emblem. I don't know what they guy charges the dealer, but I suspect the markup is huge.

really not worth it since others could steal it right off your car.

if they plate it on the spot then it might just wear off in a year or so.

Is i hard to REMOVE the chrome emblems then install the aftermarket gold ones (since the previous poster mentioned a $200 set on eBay)?

Thx

not hard at all.. theres alot of people who have already taken them off.

i think all you do is heatgun it and use like fishing line and slowly remove the adhesive from the back.

car dealerships make such markups on everything, you re better off getting them on ebay.
