I'm sure Corporate already has a longer list than this of people with this issue.

VutIS250, I will be more than happy and cooperative if we can get a high number to write a letter and contact corporate...

IS250 M owners... please co-sign this thread if you are willing to participate in contacting corporate regarding this issue!!!

If we get enough people, I can write a letter with everyones help and hopefully something can happen.

mine is making a very slight chattering noise with the clutch engaged (foot off pedal) when i press the clutch i can quietly hear it slow down and stop so it is definately the flywheel not the throwout bearing (in my situation) i will sign the complaint. i will gladly post you my name and vin # in a pm.

so few people are suggesting it's the flywheel... I have informed the dealership service dept about this and they are willing to change the flywheel\clutch. Should get the car back in about 5 days or so...I will update the thread once i get some [hopefully good] news

Here goes the update... I have gotten my car back for about 6 days now. The dealership decided to change the clutch and the transmission though I only gave them approval to change the clutch. Their excuse for changing both is that something is tightly coupled and that it would be really difficult to change the clutch without the tranny... blah blah blah... Whatever if the rattle goes away for good

Anyways, so coming out of the dealership, the rattle was all gone. Felt great!!! But after driving it for about 6 days now, i feel like the rattle is on the verge of a comeback... it hasn't comeback yet, but I think I am feeling tiny rattles [perhaps I am being over sensitive... I usually blast my music, but for the past 6 days, I have been driving without any music]...

I think there is no way for me to know the real results until i drive it for about a month or 2... If the rattle makes a comeback, it would suck big time and would suggest a badly designed clutch\flywheel as lobuxracer suggested. So for those of you that are thinking about getting your clutch\tranny swapped because of the rattling, i would suggest you wait for some more time... I will update this thread on in about 2-3 weeks on the status of my car. Thanks everyone for the help.

I got rid of the "you know what" almost 6 weeks ago now but thought I'd check in to see how everyone else is doing. I'm willing to bet the problem comes back... I went through the same scenario twice and each time I thought there was a glitter of hope only to be completely disappointed!

I feel sorry for you guys.... the 335i is one sweet ride!!! It almost makes me forget I once drove a Lexsux. As a consumer the best thing you can do it NEVER buy another one - there are enough other alternatives out there. They will eventually learn the hard way.
