The first time I saw the metallic-looking trim, I thought it was tight, and thought the wood was ugly. But once I actually went to see the car in person, the wood looked so, so much better. It's a lot darker than most cars, and looks great against black interior. And now when I look at the metallic-looking trim, which is really just plastic painted silver, I can't help but think it looks cheap. No offense to people who have it and like it... it just isn't for me, though.

wood doesnt belong in this car..imo. There isnt enough of it to make an impact. They should have used real aluminum.
I disagree. If it was lighter-colored wood like in non-AMG Mercedes or BMW's, then yeah, it wouldn't belong. But with it being so dark, it's totally sleek and classy, just like the rest of the car.
I like the wood, but I think Aluminum would have looked best (i hate to say it, but the same aluminum that you can get on a 3-series.) But each person has their own opinion.
This topic has indeed been discussed thoroughly, but after doing a search, I think this is the first thread that actually has pictures of the metallic trim. This is, after all, what the OP asked for - not what everybody thinks of the trim.
