Default Auto starter

Is there a dealer installed opsion for the IS yet.
I went to my local dealer an was told that there is one being installed but the car must be shut off before and restared once you are in the car before it will let you move it.

Did any one get that option?

If you mean a push button start from outsife the car the simple answer is no and so far no one can make one work. It was not designed to do this.

I haven't looked into it but look at this link. It has a Smart Key - Remote Start fob.

I actually got a remote start for my IS, its a third party remote starter though..it comes with an additional fob so its a bit more to carry..otherwise its great during the winter season.

Remote start has been done, there is a Dealership in MA I heard of that is linked up w/ a Local Audio shop that does the remote start but you have to carry two fobs around and once you use the auto-start fob no other functions on your OEM fob will work including the keyless (key in pocket) opening of the doors and trunk etc.

hung8852 and Kepeli

What brand of starters do you guys use? I don't mind having a second FOB but does it interfere with the lock/unlock/trunk release on the Lexus key FOB? What I'm trying to say is do you now have to use the aftermarket FOB to lock, unlock and so forth because the OEM FOB does not work anymore besides to start the vehicle?

i use the OEM fob when i lock the door, or use the door button to lock it. To unlock, i use the remote starter fob...kinda stupid at first, but i got use to it..

the only difference for me is that I also have a third party alarm installed too...which i kinda regret, because now I have to press unlock on the remoter starter fob everytime i get in the car. defeats the whole purpose of the automatic unlock feature..
