Some people love them, but I'm in the camp that has found them absolutely worthless, even with the A/C directed to the floor vents.
After the gym or a nice long trail ride, the seats help cool down the twins very nicely. Of course I'm wearing shorts at the time. It's a little harder to feel with jeans on, but I certainly wouldnt call the feature "worthless". Originally Posted by Bichon

I too live in Houston and I can tell you that I think the cooled seats are great! Even in jeans I can tell a difference when I have them turned on during a hot humid day. Like someone else said, it takes about 5 minutes or so but I can definitely tell a difference. Them keep my back and butt from getting all sweaty and sticky.

Mine without a doubt have a very noticeable cooling effect, but at times it takes a while for the temp to drop, based on how warm the seats are.

I love them...especially when youre tired, and a little damp after coming out from the gym. It felt great using them in the summer time. Keep in mind where I live, because it is very damp around here.

Humidity is low where I live. I can feel a slight breeze between my legs, but absolutely nothing on my back. I've had sweat running down my back with the control set to 3 in the blue and got no relief at all from the fan.
I'm glad so many people find it useful. It has not delivered what I expected, probably because I am very long in the torso (6'2" with a 33.5" inseam). I have found if I lean forward there is some air blowing through the back, but when I am seated normally, there is no flow at all.

It also depends on the material your wearing, you will most likely not feel any difference at all if you wearing jeans/denim vs something lighter, I notice when I'm in my dress pants I can really feel it, and when I'm in my sweats I could never tell.
Agree. I love the ventilated seats and found them to be usefull when needed.Originally Posted by Jatt

If it weren't for the slight whirring noise that the fan makes at idle, I'd suspect my seat coolers were broken. I don't feel anything through my jeans or tee-shirt. Like Lobuxracer, my biggest hope for this was that it help cool my back when I get in the car all hot and sweaty, but I feel nothing.Originally Posted by SilverLexo

I don't often wear shorts, but I when I do, the small amount of air blowing through the seat is super-heated by the black leather during the first few minutes when it is needed most.
Sorry, but this feature just does not work well for me.

For me it seems to be a hit or miss. I live in South Florida and when it is really hot and humid, it does not work as well (90s and 80% humidity), but when it is a little cooler (mid 80s) it is noticable.
It also seems to work better if it is turned off when arriving at a destination and then turned on when I leave again.

I'm somewhere in the middle...I don't find them worthless, but I don't feel a signifigant cooling effect either. Like some have said, it's just enough to prevent my clothes getting sweaty & sticking to me, which is good enough for me.

My Lincoln LS has true cooled seats, and they work great. The system uses a Peltier device to cool the air and a fan pushes the cooled air to the perforated leather. In hot, humid climates they are wonderful.
The IS ventilated seats don't hold a candle to true cooled seats. They work reasonably well, especially if the vents are forcing air to the floor, but as others have pointed out, they are not true cooled seats.

Yeah, they work OK. I enjoy having them and they cool 'downstairs' down enough when i'm in shorts/suits that makes me content with them. However, i NEVER feel any air on my back.

If you take a temp reading at floor level and compare it to head level you will see a difference (hot air rises). This difference combined with the air flow is what you feel and can be affective in most conditions.
