Question about limited driving conditions
Ok I’ll explain. I am currently on a military base overseas. I basically have to stay on the base. The base speed limit is 25 in most areas. There is one stretch of road that goes to 35. Now there are some places where my roommate and I kick it up to 50-60 sometimes.
My question is, does anyone see a problem with bring an IS350 down here with these limitations/restrictions. I want to buy it so I can pay it off, or mostly off before I leave here. I could wait till I leave to buy it but the likely hood I’d save the money is not very good. LOL. My roommate has a G35, and he says do it, and another buddy has a TL here.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Lol.. sorry, I am just playing here. I don't really understand your concern.
And, where is this "down here" place? Lol...

Why don't you just pretend that you bought it, and make set payments into a money market account. Perhaps you could even arrange to make those deposits through payroll deduction, so you don't see the money. That way while you're on base, you'll be earning interest instead of paying it.

sorry.. my concern is driving the car for a year or so and not taking it over 25-35 for the most part.
I've had some ppl say that it would not be good for the car but other say it wouldn't hurt it at all.

Between proximity to a major body of salt water, and the typical military installation speed limit, you would be doing your car a great disservice. Bichon's idea is a great one. Save some money while you are there so you can be in a better position to negotiate financing (or maybe you won't need financing at all!)
I spent 20 years and 7 months in the Air Force, and I've been stationed overseas. You're WAY ahead to save your money while at your duty station.
