Default Liquid Clear Bra

My parents are interested in getting a clear bra and they are looking at a liquid clear bra?? Has anyone heard of them before? I don't want them to get screwed.

I got a 3m clear bra from aerotech on my IS and the only bad part is the line. the liquid one is like 900 and mine was 500 and the liquid one covers the whole hood. Whereas mine has a line.

Anyone had any experiance with a liquid clear bra?

Hmmm...

Never heard of it.

If I had a choice, I'd spend up to $2k to get the whole car done with a couple layers.

I've never heard of a "liquid" clear bra. Can you tell us more about it?

I've clear bra-ed 4 cars the "old fashioned way" - 3M film and paid an installer. At $1K per car it was pricey, but they're doing the job as advertised and I have peace of mind. It used to be that I found new chips in the paint when I washed my car and that doesn't happen anymore.

Please convince your parents to take their car to a professional installer and have a "real" clear bra installed.

You've never heard of of the liquid bra, yet you assert it's not "real". So, basically, if you haven't heard of something, it's not real?

Boy, talk about putting words in my mouth! Why the personal assault?

My usage of "real" was in reference to a clear bra, which has always been a generic term attributed to the plastic film that is used to cover the painted surface of a car.

And, yes, I have heard reference made to a "spray" that is supposed to be "like" a clear bra. I even asked the owner of Maryland Performance Works, where I had clear bras installed on my cars, about this spray. Based on what they knew about this item they said that it cannot give the same protection as the film.

So, now you know.

Here are a few spray-on clear bras:

Not sure how good they are though. If you try one of them, let us know.

I agree, that's an insane price for a little paint protection. If they're spraying a permanent coating, that sounds like a clear coat anyway. Unless it peels off and can be reapplied, you'd have to repaint when it gets damaged, right? If that's the case, I see no point in paying for it.

hello?!?! didnt you guys get the whole protective spray spiel after you bought your car from lexus? I forgot what its called, but it's a spray on protective coat that lasts for up to 5 years and can be applied to the interior as well. I heard it works, but not as effective as the 3m bra

That's actually not a clear bra, but a semi-permanent "wax" treatment.

It sort of substitutes for wax for the exterior, Armor-All for the interior. It does not protect from major scratches or chips. It does protect from fading and UV damage.
