Clear Bra
If you have the extra money to spend...then go for it. It will save you car from rock chips on the freeways and will keep your re-sale value high. Worth the investment IMO.
i think it's worth it, though understand that it's not completely full proof. I had a piece metal fly up and slice thru my clear bra and it nicked the paint. But the one consolation is that it would have been much worse had i not had the clear bra. It's also easy to maintain and does save you from most rock chips. If you go to aerotect say hi to francisco and jeanne for me.

If you do a lot of freeway or dirt road driving, yes.
I don't, and I have no rock chips.
Oh yeah, and I just searched the forums for any threads with titles that have "clear bra" in 'em, and I got about 5 pages of threads.
But I don't like it when people just say "search it" just to show their prowess and avoid answering a simple question, so I answered this time.
One more thing, welcome to CL

.But seriously, if you're careful like me, you probably won't have to worry.
When I'm on dirt roads in my area(construction areas, b/c dirt roads are rare here), I slow down considerably.
And when I'm on the freeway, I make sure I leave like 3 to 4 car lengths between the car in front and my IS.
If someone comes in the lane in front of me, I back off and repeat the whole car length thing.
For me, I just had many better things to do with that $600 - $700.

GET IT, but be CAREFUL maintenance is a pain. I have my front bumber, mirrors, and hood wrapped and bugs seem to get embedded (STAIN is a better choice of words, certain bugs leave a residue on the bra) in the bra and you have to use something other than a car wash to remove them. As far as being protected from rocks, since i live in Texas and its pretty common, it is a must. On my old is250 tungsten pearl i had a rock nick my hood and left a horrible mark, since i traded it in and got an is350 black sapphire, i had my clear bra installed the second week i had the car by the dealer, the whole setup was around $600, well worth it though!
My gf thought I was craaaazy to spend $$ on a clear bra ... that was until she checked out the front of her car ... and saw it speckled with little rock chips EVERYWHERE!
It's money well spent ... There's a beautiful SGM in my work's parking lot ... and it looks like the front end has dandruff.

This is not what I consider a "debatable" area. My 03 black Audi A4 was literally rifled with tiny pock marks and I'm not an agressive driver - just normal crap flying up from every vehicle ahead of you winds up getting embedded in the bumper, front fenders and lower hood area.
If you do get the bra go for the few extra bucks and get the FULL package (mirrors, door handles, lights, etc.) including the "extended" coverage for the hood and fenders. You will NOT regret spending this extra $$ a year from now.
Just be careful WHERE you get it done. Just because a dealer "uses" some third party place does NOT mean they will do a great (or even acceptable) job. A good way to judge roughly how good they are is to ask if they've done this model before (you definitely don't want to be their guinea pig) and approximately how long it will take to do the whole job. If they say an hour or two - walk away. A truly good job will take an experienced installer a solid 3 to 5 hours. Don't be afraid to shop around not only on price but also look for references and work they've already delivered.
Good luck !
