I just recently purchased a new 06 IS350 with navi (and bluetooth) and I've experienced and read in this forum that some Verizon phones (ie RAZR) do not have the capability to upload contacts into the car.
I've done some digging and found instructions on how to trick the car into thinking your phone is OPP capable by using a laptop wth bluetooth. Unfortunately, the instructions are for a Prius and I have not been successful in using the concepts in the directions to work with my IS350.
Thus, I wanted to reach out to this community to see if anyone has been successful with a Lexus or if someone can have better success in getting this to work (and of course share the knowledge). Assuming that the Prius bluetooth system is similar to a Lexus one, this concept (if it works) can be used for other Lexus models.
I tried this using a MacBook laptop with bluetooth to mimic my RAZR (with cingular). It was a no go. (on an '07 IS350) The only way I was able to upload contacts was to do it one at a time using the phone itself. If anyone knows of a method that works, let us all know.
Laptop aside, I've tried to upload or pair my phone book to my car with failing results. Paring the bluetooh phone in itself was damn easy.....what's with the phone book?....Sprint user with a Samsung Multimedia phone. As mentioned above, I'm doing it one at a time......when I find time.
i can pair and talk, but can't even upload one at a time using my v710. I'm willing to buy a new phone that is compatible, but have no idea what phones work and which don't. I have verizon if anyone wants knows.

To the OP, is your RAZR a V3c or a V3m? If it's the c, and doesn't have a memory card, full OBEX should be enabled on it.
I have the V3c. I couldn't get it to work with the Verizon firmware...
I ended up flashing my phone to the Alltell firmware and transfering the contacts one at a time. I guess that's at least better than inputting contacts from scratch.
I believe the full OBEX on the v3c was only on the inital launch of phones which leaked out through BestBuy and other channels. I could be wrong but that is what I understood, after finding out many of my friends who purchased there v3c after me did not have full OBEX.
The Lexus bluetooth system doesn't use OBEX, it uses the OPP (object push profile). The Verizon RAZR, even the very first ones to come out, DID NOT support OPP.
The way to get OPP support on a Verizon RAZR is to flash it with Alltel firmware. It not only enable OPP, so you can transfer the phonebook (albeit one contact at a time), it also gets rid of that ugly LG-style user interface with the red bars.
I bit the bullet and flashed my Razor V3c - I was able to transfer contacts one at a time. It's not ideal but this method sure beats entering the contacts manually from scratch.

Version .02 of the firmware (Verizon) supports full OBEX. It was completely stripped from .03, so it couldn't even be enabled by SEEM editing. In .04, it was there. It wasn't just with initial launch.
